Earth Day is April 22, 2012 and here is how some retailers are giving back:

Free Entrance Into National Parks All Week

Go out to almost 400 national parks this week (April 21-29) and you don’t have to pay an entrance fee. Check with each national park as well because there are many free events happening this week.

Starbucks : Just bring in your own travel mug into any participating Starbucks store, and they’ll give you a FREE coffee or tea as a thank you for doing your part to save the environment.

Here’s the list of what you can choose from for your Earth Day 2012 freebie: hot brewed coffee, iced brewed coffee, hot tea, iced tea.

Starbucks coupons or purchase is required to snag your free drink. One free drink per customer per visit. All travel mugs will be discounted 20% on Earth Day. Don’t want to purchase a travel mug and don’t have one of your own? No problem, just ask the barista for a ceramic for-here mug and you’ll still get a FREE drink as well.


Pottery Barn Kids: Stop into a nearby store on Saturday and Sunday (April 21-22) and pick up a free packet of sunflower seeds from Pottery Barn Kids and National Geographic.

Lowes: is giving away one million trees on Monday, April 23rd, arrive early since these go fast!

Chipotle Mexican Grill  will reward its eco-friendly customers with a free menu item if they purchase one of the restaurant’s repurposed billboard bags from Chipotle’s online store now through April 14. All proceeds from the lunch bag sales go to the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, designed to help create a more sustainable and healthful food supply and raise awareness of important food issues.

The  Disney Store will be giving away free reusable shopping bags on April 22nd when you bring 5 plastic shopping bags into the store. Quantities are limited

Target is giving away a limited number of free reusable bags in stores near the guest service desk, April 22nd. Limit one bag per person.

Jo-Ann fabric and craft store : if you are one of the first 50 customers on Sunday, April 22nd, you’ll get a free tote bag. No purchase is necessary and they’re only available while supplies last.

Michael’s Arts & Crafts: FREE tote for kids when they “Make-It-Take-It” from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. on 4/22.
